For this project, I was tasked to design a film festival poster that promotes the movie "Blade Runner" and a folded self-mailer that promotes the film festival. For the poster, I captured the futuristic theme of the movie and addressed the movie's moral question on what is the difference between a human and a replicant (robot). I used a concept of a mirror because replicants were like a mirror of what humans are; they all had feelings, memories, and a life.
The headline "Quite and Experience to Live in Fear" is a quote from Roy Batty, a replicant, that alludes to the constant fear of death. I manipulated the type by painting it with my finger to have an organic feel which relates to the human appearance of the robots. The word FEAR is shattered by a gunshot because this is how blade runners (bounty hunters) killed replicants. I collaged different scenes of the movie reflected in the glass to simulate the memories of the replicants which are shattered away on the hands of their creators.

FILM FESTIVAL PROMOTIONAL: Folded Self-mailer
For the self-mailer, I designed the infographics, the secondary film festival poster, and the die-cut mailer. I used an intricate die-cut folding because it relates to the futuristic vibes of the film festival and resembles the shape of a city. I took advantage of the divisions of the folding to section the composition.
The color palette keeps consistency with the main film festival poster and strengthens the futuristic theme while adding a cyberpunkish influence to be more inclusive to the other films showcased in the festival. The back of the mailer has quotes of the different movies to remind the audience of some of the iconic phrases of each film.
